New report assesses deep geothermal energy in the UK

BGS, in collaboration with Arup, was commissioned by the North East Local Enterprise Partnership to develop a White Paper assessing the current situation and future potential of deep geothermal energy in the UK. The report entitled 'The case for deep geothermal energy — unlocking investment at scale in the UK', provides an evidence-based assessment of the opportunities and makes recommendations for building the deep geothermal sector. The report was funded by the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero and the North East and Yorkshire Net Zero Hub. Further information and access to the report is available through our website.
