Wellbeing Week is coming! 19-25 January 2026
Join us for Wellbeing Week, a celebration of physical and mental wellbeing for children and young people with SEND and their families. There is a fantastic mix of activities to help you feel good, stay active and connect with others. We have an interactive timetable which you can find on the Local Offer with information on all the activities available and how to book.

Free Move and Make Together sessions
As part of Wellbeing Week we are offering free workshops of creativity, crafting, dance and play for the whole family on Saturday 24 January at the Child Development Centre in Kempston.
Session 1: 9:45am – 11:15am for ages 5-7
Session 2: 12:15pm – 1:45pm for ages 7-11
Session 3: 2:15pm – 3:45pm for ages 11-14
The workshops are designed to be fun and inclusive for all the family, and to offer opportunities for you to create, dance and play together as a family.

Free wellbeing sessions for parents and carers
As part of wellbeing week, join us for a relaxing meditation and breathwork session on Tuesday 20 January or Friday 23 January or a Sound Bath session on Thursday 22 January. All sessions will take place at the Child Development Centre in Kempston and start at 10am.
The sessions are designed to give you a chance to breathe, ground, and reset in a supportive and understanding space, with the aim of supporting nervous system regulation. No experience is needed, just wear something comfortable.
Places are limited so booking is essential. Please email sendevents@bedford.gov.uk to book your place, stating which session you would like to attend.

Let's Talk Wellbeing Event
Join the Bedford Borough Parent Carer Forum for a warm, welcoming session focused on Parent Carer wellbeing on Wednesday 21 January at 9:30am at The Addison Centre.
What we’ll look at:
- Discover wellbeing services, groups & resources in Bedford
- Understand what the local offer includes for parent carer health and support
- Explore practical ways to nurture your own wellbeing
- Connect with other parent carers in an open, supportive space
- Share experiences and discuss what’s working and what needs to improve
This session is designed so everyone can speak, listen, and be heard. BBPCF will guide discussions with forward-focused questions.
