Fun for children

Rhymetimes and Wiggles & Jiggles are back! All sessions are free, but please book in advance by calling or visiting the library beforehand.

Bedford Central Library

Baby Rhymetime for new-born to 18 months every Monday from 11.30am term time.

Rhymetime for 18 months to 5 year olds every Thursday from 11.30am term time.

Kempston Library

Rhymetime for 18 months to 5 year olds every Tuesday from 11.30am term time.

Wiggles and Jiggles for new-born to 18 months every Tuesday from 2.00pm.

Please bring a small mat or blanket for your little one to lie on at Wiggles and Jiggles.

Saturday Kids' Club at Kempston Library

Saturday Kids’ Club returns to Kempston Library tomorrow! Join us for colouring, crafts, activities, and games from 10.00am until 3.30pm every Saturday (the last craft starts at 3.00pm).

Places are limited, so we recommend booking in advance by calling Kempston Library on 01234 276453. Walk-in spaces will be available for any stations that are not booked, on a first-come, first-serve basis.

New email alerts for overdues

We've introduced two new services for our customers-

Pre-overdue emails three days before your loans are due back
Overdue emails when your loans are past their due date, the first at one week overdue.

We hope this will make managing your loans even easier. If you’re not sure whether we have your current email address, please check with a member of staff next time you’re at the library.

Library closure days

Putnoe Library and Kempston Library will be CLOSED for essential building works on the following dates-

Putnoe Library: Tuesday 8th March

Kempston Library: Tuesday 15th March & Thursday 17th March

Customers with items due back on these dates will not be charged late fees for returning their items to these libraries up to a week after. You can also renew items online and on the app, or return them to a different library.
