On International Women's Day (8th March), we posted an online display celebrating the life of one of our Great Bedfordians; Pearl Thomson. Born in Jamaica, Pearl arrived in Bedford in 1956 and became the town's first female teacher from the Caribbean. You can view the display here.
We also made a Women's Art History quiz featuring the female artists in the collections, including Dora Carrington, Gwen John and Pre-Raphaelite Elizabeth Siddal. Have a go and test your knowledge here.
