Type 2 diabetes is a serious health issue. As well as all the other problems diabetes can cause, such as blindness, kidney failure, heart attacks and strokes, we know that diabetes leads to worse outcomes with COVID-19.
Many people living in our communities have undiagnosed Type 2 diabetes. The NHS is asking as many people as possible to check their risk of developing Type 2 diabetes through the quick and easy ‘Know Your Risk’ tool - https://riskscore.diabetes.org.uk/start - anyone who gets a moderate or high risk result can join the NHS Diabetes Prevention Programme to get help to reduce their risk.
