Here are some ideas to help us all have a greener Christmas, and they could help save a few pennies too:
The big food shop
- Join the ‘no time to waste’ challenge to see how much money you could save on your food bill in the run up to Christmas, and help stop good food going to waste. Visit TescoFoodWasteChallenge.co.uk to get involved.
- Make sure you write a shopping list of what you need and stick to it!
- Don’t get drawn in by the offers, they often mean we buy more than we need and more ends up in the bin.
-
Love food hate waste have some great ideas on how to get food savvy for Christmas
Gifting
Cards and Wrapping
- Make the swap to brown paper wrap which is recyclable in your orange bin, or use fabric tied with ribbon which can be reused year on year.
- Avoid glittery and foil wrapping paper which cannot be recycled.
- Check out the scrunch test to see if your wrapping paper can be recycled on the Recycle Now website
