Sports Development Activities during the Festive Season

Mindful Sport - last sessions in 2019  before the Festive break as follows:

 

Table Tennis at the Higgins will be Monday 16th December

 

Yoga at the Library; Relaxation Swim and Yoga at Robinson Pools and Fitness - Wednesday 18th  December

 

Wellbeing Walk -  Friday 20th December

 

All sessions recommence in the New Year from week beginning Monday 6th January 2020

The Over 70s sessions take a break for the festive season and there will be NO SESSIONS during the weeks commencing 23rd and 30th December 2019.

The "Just Turn Up" and Gentle Exercise Programmes take a break over the forthcoming festive season . The last session before the break will take place during the week commencing Monday 16th December 2019.

 

The programme will start up again in the New Year, week beginning Monday 6th January 2020.

Midweek Mindful Yoga - Robinson Pool

MFY

Wednesday evenings 8.15 - 9.15pm

Come and try our midweek relaxation Yoga which has a focus on calming the mind and removing tension from the body. The session includes a range of postures to do at your own pace and there is time set aside for mindfulness. This type of exercise has been shown to improve sleep patterns and reduce the symptoms of stress.  

The beginner Yoga session is delivered by an experienced practitioner and there is lots of signposting information available in the reception area for local mental health support services. The 1 hour sessions costs just £3 and register from 8pm in the café area at Robinson Pool.

Tai Chi at Bedford Central Library and the Higgins

Please note that there will be no Tai Chi  on at Bedford Central Library on Monday 16th; 23rd; or 30th December 2019. The session will resume on Monday 6th January 2020 at 12.30 - 1.30pm. NEW PRICE £3.50

 

Also there will be no sessions at the Higgins on Tuesday 17th; 24th; or 31st December. The sessionsat the Higgins will resume on Tuesday 7th January 2020 at 10.00 - 11.00 am  NEW PRICE £3.50

Parent and Child Multi-Sports Club

Multi-sport sessions for parents/carers and children aged 2 years +

Includes: throwing and catching games; obstacle courses; balance and co-ordination;balls and bats

 

John Bunyan Sports and Fitness

Every Wednesday 11.00am - 11.45am

 

Bedford International Athletic Stadium

Every Friday 11:30am - 12:15pm

 

No need to book, just turn up. Sessions start week of 13th January, £2 per child - siblings under 2 years go free

 

Girls Futsal Club

John Bunyan Sport and Fitness

 

For girls in school years 2-6

Every Monday or Thursday

4:30pm – 6.00pm

 

Sessions run with a fully qualified coach and focus on learning the basic skills of the game, combined with match play and most importantly providing a safe and fun environment. Cost will be £2-3 dependant on demand.
