On Thursday 2 May, Bedford Borough goes to the polls with local elections for the Mayor of Bedford Borough, Borough Councillors, and in some areas, Parish and Town Councillors.
Make sure you vote in these important local elections to have your say on the future of your area.
Remember that your vote is yours alone- it is your decision and it’s illegal for anyone to influence you to vote against your will.
The way you vote in an election for an Elected Mayor is different from other Council Elections. You can vote for a first and second choice of candidate for Mayor. To make both a 1st and 2nd choice, make sure you place an “X” in both Column One and Column Two of the Mayoral Election ballot paper. Details of how to vote will also be displayed in all polling stations.
The location of the polling station where you can vote in your area will be on your poll card. If you can’t find it, it’s not a problem - you do not need to bring this with you in order to vote.
You can find your polling station, and other information about voting in this local election at www.bedford.gov.uk/elections2019 . We will also be posting the results of the election on this webpage when they are announced on Friday 3 and Saturday 4 May.
