Do you have volunteer opportunities at your club? if so Active Bedford and the Duke of Edinburgh Scheme may be able to help in finding you volunteers.

The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award consists of three levels – Bronze, Silver and Gold.  In each case there are requirements for a period of voluntary service and also skill development. DofE Leaders in Bedford Borough schools and other organisations that offer the Award often have difficulty assisting participants to find suitable placements.  Equally, many sports clubs and related organisations regularly identify the lack of volunteers as a big problem.  Active Bedford is therefore seeking to address both issues by gathering information from those clubs and organisations that are in a position to offer opportunities for volunteering or skill development – coaching, officiating etc. This information will then be made available to the Award deliverers who would then have an opportunity to contact the club directly to assist in placing interested participants.Therefore if you have an opportunity and would like to find some D of E volunteers email the following information:
