What are we looking for from you?

We are currently looking for a reliable, efficient and customer-focused individual with good communication and organizational skills to join our Clerical Team based at Moorfields at Bedford Hospital

We are passionate about delivering an excellent service to patients and you will play a crucial role in achieving this. You will be the primary point of contact for patients and medical/administrative staff for any issues relating to appointments so that clinic lists are fully utilized and patients appropriately booked.

The post holder will be responsible in assisting with the day-to-day-smooth running of the Outpatient team, in order to provide and effective, efficient and customer focused service, which meets the changing needs of the Trusts' managers, employees and members of the public. Contacting of patients and booking their appointments whilst ensuring that national waiting times are adhered to. Advising patients, staff and relatives using various methods such as e-mail and telephone and dealing with their enquiries is also a key part of this role. The role could also involve preparing Patient case notes for both outpatient & inpatient services supporting the various clinical teams.

Applicants must have clerical experience and have worked with the public in a customer care position. Applicants should have at least 2 GCSEs (or equivalent) Grade C or above including Maths and English or an NVQ2 in the relevant subjects (or equivalent) e.g. customer care or administration. Knowledge and experience of NHS targets is desirable. The ability to work to tight deadlines is essential. . Excellent communication skills are essential as you will be expected to work with a diverse range of people. Good IT skills and attention to detail are also a must; we aim to deliver a high standard of service to our patients and medical team.
