Patient Transport Driver (Relief) - East of England Ambulance Service Trust 

Hours: 37.5hrs | Salary:£15,404 - £18,157 

We are looking for very special individuals who you would trust to care and transport your closest family and friends when they may be feeling vulnerable on their journey to/from hospital. If you have experience of caring for people, and proven customer care and communication skills with the public, then we would like to hear from you. You will need to be flexible, adaptable, and at times discreet, with a mature outlook. A good sense of humour and local knowledge of the area you are applying to work in will also be an advantage. You need a full UK manual car driving licence with one year’s driving experience. Please note that a maximum of 3 penalty points will be considered for a minor motoring offence only. If you have more than 3 penalty points on your licence, there will be no exceptions to this rule and you will not progress any further through the recruitment and selection process.

We can offer you clinical training to standards that allow you to be competent as a ‘First Person On Scene’, patient transport driver training, and a full uniform. Every day is different as a PTD and you could really make a difference to our patients.

You would need to be available to attend a training course on a full time basis over a period of 15 workings days (start date to be confirmed). The course may be run from two training centres. You MUST be able to commit to undertaking the training course as outlined above.

Successful applicants will be placed on the waiting list for consideration for future courses, dependent upon identified priority vacancies (the training courses have limited places available and will be subject to selection based upon priority business need). Successful applicants not allocated to the next available training course will be held on the waiting list for up to 12 months.
