Full-time | Training Assistant / Technician | Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue Service

This post will require you to provide technical assistance and routine maintenance at the Training Centre for which relevant training will be provided.  You will be required to service equipment and maintain a database of test results.  You will also be involved in the setting up of exercises in conjunction with the instructional staff at the Training Centre.  Some weekend and evening work is required.

Applicants should hold a current full driving licence (with no pending issues), have good communication skills and be able to work unsupervised.  You should also be literate, numerate, and able to follow laid down procedures.

There is a requirement that corporate wear will be worn by the successful candidate.

Full-time | Visiting Support Officer | BPHA 

Looking for experienced Visiting Support Officers to join the Retirement Services team. You will provide a sympathetic and confidential response for those using the Mobile Responder Service. The service is covered over a 24 hour period and a shift rota is in place.  You will also be required to provide housing related support to tenants as determined by Supporting People to help maintain independent living for clients within bpha Extra Care and Sheltered Schemes.

Requirements:

• You will have a passion for customer service with the ability to use your own initiative and be self-motivating particularly when working alone.
• You will have an understanding of the needs of older people and experience of helping them to remain independent; together with an awareness of issues relating to Professional Boundaries and Safeguarding.
• You will be able to remain calm under pressure and address conflicting priorities; be approachable and responsive to requests for help with effective communications skills.
• A flexible and willing attitude to work a variety of shifts including weekends and unsociable hours, including sleep-ins at a dedicated bpha site is essential.
• Sound IT skills, especially Microsoft office applications and using a tablet are essential for this role; knowledge of Supporting People, CAPITA systems and Assistive Technology is preferable.

Salary: £18,000 - £23,294 + shift and car user allowances + benefits
