Members of Bolsover Community Safety Partnership were out and about to hear concerns from residents and businesses during a series of community engagement events. 

Representatives from the partnership, including from Bolsover District Council’s community safety team, Derbyshire Constabulary’s Safer Neighbourhood Teams, Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service and Derbyshire Victim Services, were on hand during Anti-Social Behaviour Awareness Week. 

Bolsover District Council was pleased to take part in this year’s Industry Day at The Bolsover School, supporting Year 10 students by conducting mock interviews and sharing insights into the world of work.

The event provided students with a valuable opportunity to experience a realistic interview setting, helping them build confidence, develop communication skills and gain a better understanding of what employers look for. It also gave them the chance to discuss their aspirations and explore future education and career pathways.

The former Pleasley colliery will provide the backdrop for the first-ever culinary festival on the site.

Pleasley Pit Trust is hosting a Food and Beer Festival, offering everything from locally-produced ales and coffees to authentic pizzas and sweet treats.

There will also be plenty of entertainment, with water fights for both adults and children, live music, a sand pit from Mansfield Sand and a ‘Pit’s Got Talent’ competition where people can showcase their singing, music, dancing or magic tricks – and even their dogs’ skills – complete with a panel of judges.
