 Councillor Duncan Haywood was once again appointed as Chair of the Council with Councillor Duncan McGregor continuing his role as Vice-Chair.
The appointments took place at Bolsover District Council’s Annual Meeting on Wednesday 20 May. This is the second year running for both Councillors Haywood and McGregor.
The Council has been made aware of individuals posing as licensing officers in an attempt to collect alleged licensing fee debts from licensed premises.
We want to reassure all businesses that the Council will always issue a formal invoice directly to the premises for any licensing payment due, and all payments must only be made using the official payment details printed on the back of that invoice.

A new Chair has been elected to oversee the work of the Bolsover Partnership.
The Annual General Meeting of the Partnership took place on 21 May 2026 and, following the announcement of the retirement of the previous long-running Chair, a new Chair was appointed.
Stella Scott was formally welcomed into the role of Chair by partners at the AGM. She is a lifelong resident of Bolsover District and brings 25 years’ experience of partnership working including working as CEO of Erewash Voluntary Action.

The Mobile Job Centre is coming to Shirebrook on:
- Thursday 18 June - Thursday 25 June From 10am to 3pm, at Shirebrook Leisure Centre Car Park.
The sessions focus on helping with CVs, interview prep and employability skills.
