 Pubs and bars will be able to open later during the World Cup thanks to an extension to licensing hours.
The Government has made an Order under the Licensing Act 2003 which extends licensing hours for licenced premises in England and Wales during specific FIFA Men’s World Cup 2026 matches. The extension applies only where England or Scotland are playing in a qualifying knock-out match and only to premises that already hold a premises licence or club premises certificate permitting the sale of alcohol for consumption on the premises until at least 11pm on the day of the match. Existing licence conditions still apply.
A Creswell resident has been prosecuted for a fly tipping incident on Hazelmere Road, Creswell.
A significant amount of waste was found by a litter picker in March 2025 which was reported to Environmental Health. A Bolsover District Council Enforcement Officer attended and retrieved evidence from the waste.

Licensing Officers from Bolsover District Council and Sheffield City Council joined forces with South Yorkshire Police on Friday 8 May for a targeted taxi safety operation on Penistone Road, Sheffield.

A Shirebrook resident has paid a £200 fixed penalty notice in relation to an abandoned vehicle.
A caravan was reported to the Bolsover District Council joint Environmental Health team as having been abandoned at Bessemer Place. An Enforcement Officer attended the caravan and placed a notice on it requiring its removal.
