 A recent survey has revealed an increase in the number of residents in Bolsover District who are active, and a decrease in those classified as inactive.
The latest Active Lives Adult Survey results (November 2024 to November 2025), published by Sport England, show that Bolsover District is continuing to make steady progress in increasing physical activity levels across the community.
The project to refurbish Shirebrook market place is nearly complete.
£2million from the Council's regeneration money (which came from Government) has been spent on the project to revitalise the space and replace the old toilet block with a modern building.

Bolsover held its first Unity Day on 2 May 2026.
Taking place at the Parish Rooms in Bolsover, people came together to celebrate diversity in our community.
There were stalls and displays from local community groups like ACCA, Refugee Support Groups, Bolsover District Council, Derbyshire Constabulary, Derbyshire Fire and Rescue, Stand Up to Racism, Derby West Indian Association, Verba, RCCG Kingdom Ambassadors Bolsover and many others.
