Shirebrook Market Place is currently closed off to the public as it is an active construction site. A request made by a member of the public will be facilitated on Thursday for their personal anniversary. As it is not a public remembrance service, we will not be opening the area for general public access to the mining memorial. Any access requests should be made through the District Council by appointment.
We are working hard to have the building works completed and the site handed back to Shirebrook Town Council once all works are completed and agreements are signed.
Please do not attempt to enter the site without permission. This is for your safety and security.

A Langwith resident has paid a £100 fixed penalty notice for littering at Tallys End in Barlborough.
A Council Enforcement Officer witnessed a driver deposit a cigarette butt from their vehicle. The driver of the vehicle was identified and they were issued with the fixed penalty notice. The driver paid the fixed penalty to prevent the matter being taken to court.
