 A cheque for £653.42 was presented to two boys to help their fund raising efforts.
Noah and Thomas were given the cheque at Bolsover District Council's full council meeting on 28 January 2026 by Council Chair, Councillor Duncan Haywood. The money had been raised by staff at the council at Christmas and donated to Ashgate Hospice as part of the boys' efforts.

The UK Government has launched a consultation on proposed changes to how taxis and private hire vehicles are licensed by local authorities.
The review explores the possibility of moving the taxi licensing function to local transport authorities, currently East Midlands Combined County Authority.
