 Brand new food waste caddies are set to be delivered to homes in Bolsover District.
Following a decision by government to make food recycling mandatory for all households, Bolsover District Council will be delivering the caddies from mid-February with collections due to begin from 30 March. Wherever possible, the new caddies will be delivered on the same day as your refuse collection day.
Food waste contributes to 8% to 10% of total greenhouse gas emissions and these collections are being introduced to help reduce that.
Students at Bolsover School will benefit from a range of video and photography kit thanks to a donation.
Bolsover District Council donated the kit to the school after updating their photography and videography equipment. Instead of throwing the kit away, the Council emailed schools in the district to see if they could make use of it.
Bolsover School came back straight away and asked if they could have the equipment. The school’s media pupils will now benefit from cameras, microphones, green screens and much more.

A business owner in Tibshelf has paid a £300 fixed penalty notice for failing to produce waste documentation.
Any business that produces commercial waste must retain a waste transfer note for up to 2 years to prove they dispose of their waste correctly. This helps ensure waste is not fly tipped or disposed of in a hazardous way.
