Bolsover District Council has successfully bid for a £250,000 grant from the East Midlands Investment Zone for the development of a feasibility study for a Green Skills Hub.
They are developing the Green Skills Hub at Portland Drive in Shirebrook which is being funded through the UK Government Regeneration Fund.
The construction and fit out of a new sub regional green skills centre will be housed in c.9,000 sq. ft. of new industrial workspace and will accommodate a retrofit training hub and a workspace for training on additional green technologies.
Work is progressing well on the new multi-million pound Roseland Park and Crematorium near Shirebrook.
The £9.6million development is taking shape with the steel structures and majority of brickwork in place and site-wide landscaping underway.
The facility is due to be completed in spring 2026 and our reporter Jon Sisson spoke to some of those involved in the project about how it is progressing.
Rok-Ard Kickboxing Studio in Pinxton has recently moved to a new facility. Launched in 2001 the club provides a range of kickboxing classes for all ages, abilities and ambitions.
We sent our reporter Jonathan Sisson to talk to Georgina Brown who has been kickboxing with them since aged 5, and now 20 years later, is still active in the sport and the lead instructor for Rok-Ard Kickboxing.
