We are gearing up for the introduction of our new food waste collections after we received 42,000 new bins.
The small, brown 23 litre bins will be used specifically for food waste and will complement the existing three bin system we operate when it starts in 2026.
In 2021 it became a legal requirement for all councils across England to introduce weekly food collections, and it was confirmed in October 2023 that this new service must be provided by the end of March 2026.

It will involve the County Council investing some of its Bus Service Improvement Plan funding in the town to enhance the public environment for bus passengers in Shirebrook.
The first phase of our Shirebrook Market Place: REimagined project took place during the summer and this has seen new paving and surfacing being installed to create a respectful setting around the magnificent Mining Memorial that was unveiled in May 2023.

It is designed to depict a British soldier, known as a 'Tommy' and Bolsover TV spoke to Ben about his work.

The cenotaph in Bolsover had a makeover in time for Remembrance Sunday.
Local residents had made comments about it being discoloured and moss growing on it. So, Old Bolsover Town Council joined forces with the military charity SSAFA who got involved to clean it up.
And if that is not enough, Marie Carline from Bolsover Flowers is also supporting SSAFA throughout November by making donations from any wreaths sold during the month.

Aaron Baille has been running Fine Point Tattoo in Clowne for about a year and half now.
Located on Rectory Road, he provides all different styles of tattooing and as an army veteran he wanted to give something back to colleagues from his former profession so he now offers discounts to armed forces veterans.
We went to speak to Aaron whilst he was doing a tattoo.
