14 to 20 October
Recycle Now's Recycle Week is a celebration of recycling across the nation, galvanising the public into recycling more of the right things, more often.
This year's theme is 'Rescue Me' and the idea is to rescue recyclable items before they end up in the bin.
They also want to spread the message that by recycling at least one extra item as part of your daily recycling routine you can make a huge difference.
Lots of items that aren't recyclable end up in our recycling trucks.
It might not seem like much, but just one wrong item in your recycling bin contaminates the whole load.
To help you out, we have a handy graphic on our website to remind you what goes in your recycling bin.

A great way to ensure you keep the amount of waste that goes into your bin is to get organised before you shop.
By writing, and sticking to, a shopping list you can ensure you only buy what you need and buy smarter. If you are able to, make the choice to buy food with less packaging or recyclable packaging. And try to avoid buying more of something that you need.
