On this week's episode:
- Vision Bolsover District Part Two has been distributed across the area
- A former councillor has been remembered for the work she undertook in reviving a community venue in Stanfree
- Households across the area can take advantage of an exclusive and special offer at our Go! Active leisure facility
- 49 chalet type bungalows in Shirebrook are set for demolition as we continue our investment in our communities
- And Whitwell Brass Band is celebrating as they scoop a regional title
We have launched our 'Vision Bolsover District Part Two' booklet that aims to inform our local communities what we have been, and are doing, on their behalf.
The booklet is being delivered to every household across the district (week commencing 25 March 2024) and is narrated by the Council Leader, Steve Fritchley.
It includes details on what we have been doing over the past four-years as well as some high level ambitions that Steve feels would benefit the district and its communities.

We are investing £655k to provide renewable electricity and heat to our council offices and leisure facility in Clowne.
We bid for and successfully received £455k from the Government's swimming pool support fund to assist with improving energy efficiency of public leisure facilities.
As the leisure facility is in the same building as our main headquarters we are also investing £200k to expand the system to cover the offices.
The money will be used to install a combined heat and power (CHP) unit at the Arc office and leisure centre complex. CHPs generate electricity from an energy source, with a by-product of the generation being heat, which is captured and used to replace the existing heat production from the traditional boilers.
