Earlier this month, one of our Enforcement Officers witnessed a dog walker deposit a bag of dog waste at the side of Worksop Road near Mastin Moor.
When challenged about this, the dog walker maintained they intended to pick it up later which is not acceptable. The officer issued a £100 fixed penalty for littering which has since been paid.
Our enforcement team patrol the district regularly and have a zero tolerance policy regarding littering and dog fouling.

Pinxton Village Hall is a well used and much loved asset to the village but the building interior hasn't been upgraded for around 40 years.
So, Pinxton Parish Council has started a refurbishment programme that will make the rooms more practical for users and to modernise the look and feel of the building. The initial work on the bar area and small meeting room is due to be completed in January, with work then due to start on the other areas of the building, including the toilets and main hall.

Residents across Bolsover District are being urged to remove batteries from toys and other household items before disposing of them.
Recent research from Zurich Municipal, has found that just 38% of parents would check toys for batteries before disposing of them and found that the number of bin lorries hit by blazes has leapt 62% in the last two years.
The survey of 1,000 parents with children under 11 was carried out in November.
With Christmas on the horizon, many parents will declutter children’s toys to make room for new ones, but the research found that around one in five (21%) will throw these toys away into their household waste bin, ditching seven toys each on average, without removing the batteries.
Lithium batteries power all our everyday electronic devices such as mobiles phones, laptops and e-cigarettes but are also in millions of toys, which are believed to be one of the biggest causes.

After four months of operation, a Nuisance Vehicle PSPO is having the desired effect as over 70 fixed penalty notices have been issued.
We have issued 15 fixed penalty notices in October and on the first of December, we issued more than 60 for one car meet at Doe Lea.
And from all the fines issued, only three of them were people who actually live in Bolsover District.
