grants are being made available to community groups to help them develop local facilities and activities
a summer holiday activity club is being staged where children and young people can express their individuality and creativity
workshops are being held at Pleasley Pit to capture coalfield memories and experiences
and a Whitwell woman is set to launch her debut book that will leave you on the edge of your seat.

Community grants available

Grants are being made available for local community or voluntary groups in Bolsover District to help them develop community facilities and activities.

The grant scheme has been developed in partnership with Efficiency East Midland and applications for the scheme are welcomed from those that can demonstrate local support for a project.

Release holiday club

Children across Bolsover District can enjoy a holiday activity club where they can express their individuality and creativity whilst also receiving support for their emotional wellbeing.

Called Release, the club is delivered over four-days per week for four-hours per day. The children are introduced to street dance and hip hop techniques and are able to learn a routine and a song along with understanding how to construct their own song or rap to express their emotions.

Tibshelf Open Gardens

Tibshelf Open Gardens Day returns on Saturday 15 July after an enforced break of three-years. The purpose of the day is to raise funds to keep the church open and operational for the benefit of the whole community.

With 15 venues available for people to go and look around, including for the first time, Tibshelf Allotments and the Tibshelf Ponds area. There will also be exhibitions, plants for display and refreshments available at the Parish Church.
