Treat you mum to a day out in Bolsover District this Mother's Day.
Head to Bolsover Castle for a wonderful walk around the Stuart mansion, then stop in at one of the independent cafes in the town for lunch.
Hardwick Hall is another beautiful place to visit if 16th and 17th century needlework, furniture and artwork is of interest. Plus, there are acres of grounds to explore.
If you want to go even further back into the past visit Creswell Crags, the Ice Age site has a museum and stunning gorge to explore.
28 to 30 April Carr Vale FC
A weekend full of music at Carr Vale football ground in Bolsover.
Two stages plus food stalls and traders and a fully licensed bar mean there is something for everyone.
Bands booked to play include Nick Parker and the False Alarms, Metropolis, Gladness, Star Botherers, Matt Johnson and the Reprobates, Meden Blazers and Parson's Lot.
There is free children's entertainment and dogs on leads are welcome. Weekend tickets start from £30

Mother's Day afternoon tea with entertainment from Connie Bolton and Rob Linacre.
Please book in advance. Tickets are £20 per person and groups of 10 receive a 10% discount.
Doors open 3pm with food served from 4pm. Approximate finish time is 7:30pm

This Mother's Day. discover the fascinating insights we have into the life of women during the Stone Age. From Neanderthals to the modern human women who lived tens of thousands of years ago, learn about the roles women could have played in the deep past, as well as the importance of grandmothers in human evolutuion.
This talk will take place both in person at Creswell Crags and online via Zoom Webinar.
