The Cottage Kitties in Shirebrook is a cat rescue with a difference.
The ethos behind the sanctuary isn’t to rescue unwanted cats and rehome them, it is to take in sick and abandoned cats and provide them with palliative care.
Founder of the charity, Paulette Griffin spoke to Bolsover TV about what inspired her to start caring for poorly cats and introduced a few of her furry friends as well.

Children at Whitwell Primary School had a different sort of learning experience recently when members of the Army arrived in the playground.
A day of activities followed with the children learning about teamwork, perseverance and communication. There was an obstacle course, vehicle puzzle and a task that required them to build a communications tower. They were also challenged to test their reaction times and see who was the fastest with a reflex test.

Glapwell will become the site of the National British Ploughing Championships for 2022.
Around 230 of the best ploughmen and ploughwomen in the country will compete in different categories with many different types of plough and styles of ploughing on display on Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 October.
There will be a total of fifteen different ploughing classes over the two days (detailed below) plus in six of these classes, the top 10 competitors from the first day will take part in a ‘Plough-Off Final’ on the Sunday to find the British Champion in each section. There will be over 300 ploughing plots ploughed over the two days!
