We are set to see £173,000 being spent on protecting the vulnerable in our society and providing activities for young people to enjoy across Bolsover District.
A joint funding bid was put in by Bolsover District, Chesterfield Borough and North East Derbyshire Council’s and has secured £420,000 in total from the Safer Streets Fund to be spent over the next two years.

Hundreds of people attended the recent 'Brass on the Grass' in Barlborough.
Staged on Slayley Green in the village on Saturday 16 July, the crowds were entertained with a free open air concert.
Locals and visitors made themselves comfortable for an evening outdoor brass band extravaganza.

Elmton is the site of an ongoing archaeological project to investigate the origins of the village and to see what interesting things are buried beneath the surface.
Elmton used to be much bigger than it is today having been a thriving sheep farming village in medieval times.
The dig has uncovered some interesting things and we went down to meet Dr Matt Beresford to find out all about it.

More than 850,000 people in the UK have dementia. One in 14 people over the age of 65 suffer from it and with no known cure for it, one of the best ways to help people living with it is singing.
Ellie from Pinxton, whose mum suffered with Dementia, is starting a new Singing for the Brain group in Pinxton and she tells us what people can expect.
