Bolsover provides the perfect setting for this quirky little market, where you will find a multitude of arts, crafts, food and drink.
The market aims to put the social back into shopping and help local talent to thrive in a vibrant, friendly atmosphere, where family and friends can meet, eat, drink, shop, and be merry.
The market celebrates independent producers and crafters. But more than that, it's about people and the community; it's about meeting the makers, conversing with friends, and keeping our High Streets alive and thriving.
So come along and rediscover the magic of markets.
31 July, 2pm Creswell Crags
Join Elle Clifford and Paul Bahn as they launch their new book, Everyday Life in the Ice Age.
Elle and Paul will be holding a discussion session at 2pm followed by a book signing.
Everyday Life in the Ice Age is the first attempt to present a truly complete, balanced and realistic picture of life during the last Ice Age, with its many problems and challenges, while dispelling many of the myths and inaccuracies about our early ancestors.
One of the most common questions asked by visitors to Europe's decorated caves is "What was life like for these people?" No previous book has ever managed to answer this question, and most studies of the period are aimed entirely at academics, tending to focus on tool-types rather than what the tools were used for. Women and children are almost invisible in these studies.
The book examines all aspects of the lives of biologically modern humans in Europe from about 40,000 to 12,000 years ago, the period known as the Last Ice Age, a time of radical change in climate and environment. It explores how people were able to cope with and adapt to the often rapid alterations in their circumstances.

Bone and antler have been used from the start of prehistory up to the modern day for making tools and ornamentation. People in prehistory had a close relationship with the animals these resources came from, what does that tell us about the past?
There is a huge selection of prehistoric objects including harpoons, needles, pins, spear points and fish hooks to name a few - which will you choose? Your tools to make these replicas will include sandstone files and flint tools, just like in the Stone Age!
Dr James Dilley is an archaeologist and craftsman who specialises in prehistoric technologies with more than 18 years of experience. James has worked with museums and heritage centres around the UK such as The British Museum and Stonehenge alongside media companies such as the BBC, Channel 4, ITV, Smithsonian Channel and National Geographic.
This workshop if for ages 15+ and is not suitable for children.
