The National Allotment Society has chosen the theme of Bugs, Bees and Broccoli to highlight the importance of gardening with nature in mind.
An allotment plot is a complex mix of plants, micro-organisms, fungi, insects and animals that not only produces food but also supports eco-system services such as pollination and offers a refuge for wildlife in urban areas.
Bugs are an important part of a productive allotment and it is easy to overlook this important part of the plant growing process.
So why not join the National Allotment Society, in partnership with Bugslife, to celebrate our tiny gardening helpers.
As part of National Allotments Week we take a look back at Tania's story.
Tania visited her allotment during lockdown to help her mental health.
She told Bolsover TV about the physical and mental benefits of owning an allotment and why hers helped her get through what would have otherwise been a very lonely time.

An absolute must have investment for the eco minded is a set of portable cutlery. There are plenty of choices out there but the best to go for (in terms of weight and safety) are wood or bamboo sets.
This will make it easier to cut down on single use items such as plastic forks or spoons when you are on the go. Add in a wooden straw to your set and you are ready to tackle any culinary single use plastic situation with ease.
