Situated in the Langwith/Whaley Thorns area of the district, Poulter Country Park is a great green space to explore.
You can spot the 'Art Along the Way' up to the 'Top of the World' where you can enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding area. On a clear day you might even be able to spot Lincoln Cathedral.

On the site of what used to be a busy coal mine Pleasley Pit Country Park is a lovely place to explore. The headstocks and winding engines are still in place when it was discovered they were the only ones like it in the UK after the mine closed. There is a museum on site and the engine runs on specific days if you want to learn more about the area's recent past.
The park itself is a reclaimed colliery site boasting a large variety of birds, wildflowers, butterflies, dragonflies and damselflies. Venture up to the top and you'll see a large pond which is home to swans, ducks and geese.
The park is linked via cycleways and paths to other areas of the district and the paths are all accessible surfaced tracks.

Hidden on the outskirts of Tibshelf and Newton is Doe Hill Country Park.
A hidden gem in the district it covers 43 hectares and is a mixture of broad-leaved woodland, species-rich grassland and wetland.
It's the perfect spot for scenic walks, bike rides, bird watching and a spot of photography. Owned by Banks Mining, it's the result of an old open cast site which closed in 1998 and is run by a small group of volunteers.
