The purpose of World Bee Day is to raise awareness of the importance of bees and beekeeping, inform the public of major beekeeping events and celebrate bees!
In addition to being one of the major pollinators bees significantly contribute to the mitigation of climate change and help with environmental conservation.
It is only through joint effort that the world can ensure the protection of bees and their habitats.
Every Flower Counts is an initiative to encourage people to realise the value of every flower in their garden.
Simply take a square metre patch of lawn and count the number of flowers in that patch. Enter it into the website and Plant Life will tell you your Personal Nectar Score.
The more wildflowers you have the higher your score will be, so don't get rid of those dandelions just yet!

This year Bike Week is all about you and your local community so why not get out on your bike and enjoy your local area?
Take a moment to think how using a bike could benefit your local community. Less pollution, fewer cars on the road, healthier and happier people?
Let's take this year's Bike Week as an opportunity to really celebrate cycling, come together and tell the UK that cycling is the answer to how we can help ourselves, our community, our country and our planet.

As fuel prices rise we are all a little more conscious of the energy we are using in our homes.
An unexpected side effect of lowering our energy usage is the benefit to our environment. So this week's tip is to reduce how long you spend in the shower. Try and limit your morning ablutions to just five minutes. You could set a timer to make sure you stick to it.
