Palterton is set to come alive to some weird and wonderful characters again as they are set to stage the third Palterton Flower Pot Festival.
Local residents, schoolchildren and groups are being encouraged to create their own fantastic flower pot sculptures that can be displayed at home, in gardens, the school, streets and countryside surrounding the hamlet.
The festival will run for three weeks from 23 May to 12 June and will also coincide with the village’s Garden Party to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee on Sunday 5 June.

A Fixed Penalty Notice (FPN) was issued on 22 April to a resident for littering in Bolsover.
Our enforcement officers were on a town patrol and issued the £65 FPN on the spot after witnessing the person throw a cigarette on the floor.
The officers regularly patrol our town and village centres focusing on areas where littering is a problem and are equipped with body worn cameras. We have a zero tolerance approach to waste crime and therefore anyone witnessed littering, including cigarette litter, will receive a £65 fixed penalty notice.
