Earth Day is a day to re-focus on your environmental goals. There are events happening across the country but if you can't get to any here's some ideas of how you can spend some of the day:
-
Do an eco audit - take a long hard look at your consumables and make a list of which ones could be swapped for eco alternatives. Pledge to switch them out throughout the year. Then next year, compare the lists and see how far you've come
-
Ditch the car - if you can manage a week without your car you might find more benefits than just environmental ones. More fresh air and exercise can improve your mental and physical health
-
Shop localĀ - not only does this help cut down your emissions on journey times but it also helps the local economy. By buying food and goods locally, you cut down on carbon emissions of not only your journey, but the journey of what you buy as well
Families are being encouraged to use the Robin Hood Line and visit Creswell Crags through a new family friendly Creswell Rail Heritage Trail.
The trail is aimed at encouraging visitors to the area and takes them around the centre of the village and onto the popular Creswell Crags.

Loose leaf tea may seem old-fashioned and complicated but it is the way tea is supposed to me made.
Most normal tea bags have plastic in them making them unsuitable for composting or recycling. By making tea with loose leaf instead you can cut out unnecessary plastics. The waste from the leaves can be composted.
