Food Hall Operator Opportunity
Retford Buttermarket
Bassetlaw District Council wants to hear from experienced food hall and hospitality operators for a new venture at Retford’s historic Buttermarket.
This town centre venue has the potential to become a vibrant indoor street food destination, supporting independent food businesses and welcoming residents, visitors and community events.
The operator can help shape a commercially successful, fit-for-purpose venue alongside the Council during final design and fit-out. The food hall will offer diverse food experiences, boost town centre footfall and support the evening and weekend economy.
We seek an operator with proven experience in hospitality, venue management, food halls or similar leisure destinations, bringing vision, innovation and commercial expertise.
Benefits include:
- Prime town centre location in Retford Market Square
- Influence on final venue design
- Long-term lease opportunity
- Support and grow independent food businesses
- Lead a key Retford regeneration project
Interested?
The tender opportunity is now live, and expressions of interest are invited until 12noon on 27 November 2026.

Know you should be posting, but not sure what to say, where to say it, or how to find the time? This hands-on workshop is designed for local small businesses and startups who want to stop guessing and start building a social media presence that works.
Over four practical hours, you’ll get clear on which platforms are right for your business and learn what’s working now on Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn, with a look at TikTok and YouTube too. You’ll create real content as you go, including editing Reels on your phone using Edits. Video doesn’t need to be scary, and you’ll leave having made your first one.
Whether you’re just starting out or already posting regularly and want to sharpen your approach, you’ll be working at your own level, with tasks to suit both beginners and more experienced users, and time to ask your own questions.
The workshop will be delivered by Beryl Pettitt of Ridgeway Marketing, an experienced marketer and business trainer.
You’ll leave with:
- A clear plan for which platforms to focus on

As a Regional Keep Britain Working Vanguard Area, EMCCA is sharing an opportunity for employers across the East Midlands to contribute to a better understanding of what helps people stay healthy and thrive at work.
As part of the Keep Britain Working programme, employers are invited to take part in a quick, anonymous survey.
The survey aims to help build a better understanding of workplace health, including:
- The challenges employers are experiencing
- What support and interventions are making a difference
- How workplace health and employment can be better understood
Employers can also express an interest in a new employer data project, which will explore workplace absence through anonymous data sharing and benchmarking.
If you are an employer in the East Midlands, you can take part in the survey and share your views Understanding Sickness Absence Data: An Employer Survey – Fill in form.
