The Housing Scrutiny Sub Group met on Thursday 17 September to review and discuss important housing matters affecting tenants and leaseholders.
The meeting was live streamed and can be watched back using the link below.
What was discussed?
Service Charges Scrutiny Review
Members agreed the next scrutiny topic will focus on service charges for communal areas. This review will look at how service charges are applied, how costs are communicated, and whether there are opportunities to improve transparency and understanding for tenants and leaseholders.
Housing Service Performance
The group received an update on the performance of the Housing Service, reviewing key information about how services are being delivered and identifying areas where improvements can continue to be made.
Reports for Cabinet
Members also considered a number of reports that are due to be presented at the next Cabinet meeting. The Scrutiny Sub Group discussed the reports and their potential impact on tenants and residents before they progress through the Council's decision-making process.
Watch the Meeting.
The Housing Scrutiny Sub Group plays an important role in reviewing housing services, helping to ensure that tenants' views are considered and that services continue to improve for everyone.
We believe that everyone should be proud of where they live and the community in which they live. This is why we undertake healthy neighbourhood inspections on our estates.
Our Neighbourhood Housing Officers conduct these inspections, and tenants and residents in the area are invited to attend. Our Anti-Social Behaviour Team, Environment Services, Nottinghamshire Police, and other authorities may also be present.
