 Bassetlaw District Council is developing a new Growth Strategy to support sustainable economic growth across the district. Local businesses and stakeholders are invited to a workshop to review the emerging priorities and help shape the actions needed to deliver them.
The session will focus on investment, skills and business support, place-making, the visitor economy, people and connectivity.

Through the Government’s Pride in Place Programme, Worksop has secured £20 million over 10 years to support town centre regeneration. To help create a more vibrant high street, £120,000 in Business Support Grant funding is available in 2026/27 to bring empty properties back into use and support local businesses.

Worksop Together is inviting residents, businesses, learners and workers to share their views as part of its latest community survey.
In 2025, engagement with more than 700 people who live, learn or work in Worksop helped shape the priorities included in the Worksop Together investment plan, which successfully secured funding in April 2026. One of the top 20 priorities identified was the role of buildings in supporting the town’s future.
This second short Worksop Together community survey for 2026 focuses on which buildings in Worksop could offer the best opportunities for additional community spaces, and which empty buildings people would most like to see brought back into use.
Feedback gathered through the survey will help inform future funding and investment decisions made by the Worksop Together Pride in Place Board.

Youth Jobs Grant
Receive up to £3,000 when you recruit a young person
The Youth Jobs Grant Scheme is now open to employers across Great Britain. Businesses recruiting an eligible 18 to 24-year-old who is claiming Universal Credit and has been unemployed for at least six months can receive a £3,000 grant towards recruitment and training costs. Open to employers of all sizes and sectors, the scheme provides financial support while helping young people gain valuable employment opportunities.

Reminder: Summer bus service to Clumber Park running until Sunday 6 September
A daily summer bus service is continuing to connect Worksop with Clumber Park until Sunday 6 September, making it easier for local residents and visitors to enjoy a low-cost day out during the school holidays.
The service runs three times a day between Worksop Train Station, Worksop Bus Station, Manton Depots and Clumber Park, before returning along the same route.
Return tickets cost £3 per person and include admission to Clumber Park. Travel and entry are free for National Trust members, children under five and visitors arriving at Worksop by train with a valid rail ticket.
The route is funded by the East Midlands Mayor and operated by Stagecoach East Midlands, in partnership with the National Trust.

Connect to Work is a new voluntary employment support programme designed to help people with disabilities, health conditions, or other barriers to employment access and sustain meaningful work. We are looking for local employers to support and engage residents by offering opportunities, sharing industry insights, and championing inclusive recruitment practices that help individuals achieve their employment goals.  A new Lean Yellow Belt short course for businesses based in Bassetlaw, delivered by Whyy? Change.
The course consists of four half-day, in-person sessions, alongside a workplace project where delegates can put their learning into practice.
Delegates will learn practical Lean tools and techniques to help reduce waste, improve processes, increase productivity and effectiveness, enhance customer satisfaction, and support a culture of continuous improvement within their business.
This course will be delivered at The Bridge Skills Hub in Worksop and will start from Monday 21st September. There is currently a one-time-only introductory price of £500.00 + VAT per delegate (usually £1,000). Maximum of two delegates per business.
