Healthy Neighbourhood Inspections
Healthy Neighbourhood Inspections help us to find things such as graffiti, overgrown gardens, and resolving issues within the community.
Each area has at least one inspection per year, and they are carried out by your Housing Officers. People from other Council departments, Councillors, Nottinghamshire Police and other agencies may also attend and help resolve issues.
We want tenants to be part of these inspections, even if it is just for your street or to raise an individual issue, after all it is your estate, and nobody knows it better than you.
Please join us at one of the inspections that take place over the next month:

We have eight Neighbourhood Housing Officers who look after different areas of Bassetlaw. They are available to talk about any issues you may have about your tenancy, your home, or the area where you live.
They carry out Estate Inspections, property checks to ensure that tenants keep to their tenancy agreements, and help with minor cases of anti-social behaviour. They also give advice on how to look after your home or garden and keeping communal areas clean and tidy.
You can speak to them by calling 0800 590 542 or contact them direct using their email.
Find out more on the 'Who is my housing officer?' page on our website.
Bassetlaw District Council is adding 24 new homes to its housing stock that will provide much needed affordable housing for local people.
The homes include 12 new two-bed homes located at Gleeson’s Firbeck Fields development in Langold, ten at the Vistry Hall Park Estate in Gateford and two through the open market.
The properties will be let at 80% of market rent, in line with the Council’s Allocations Policy, and will help to supply the growing demand for social housing in Bassetlaw.

We aim to provide you with the best possible quality services our resources will allow, but if things go wrong, we want to know, so we can investigate what’s happened and put things right at the earliest opportunity.
You can report things to us in a variety of ways to raise concerns, we’re here to listen — but to make sure your issue is properly logged and resolved, whether it's a missed appointment, a repair issue, or something else - the quickest and most effective way is to report it as a service issue.
To do this contact our Contact Centre ( 01909 533533, email customer.services@bassetlaw.gov.uk or use the online reporting form on our website.)
You can also find lots of help and information about the Housing Service on our website.
If the issue isn’t resolved or you’re unhappy with the outcome, you can then escalate it as a formal complaint.
If you have been through the formal complaints process and are not satisfied with the outcome, you can get in touch with the Housing Ombudsman. You can contact them via phone on 0300 111 3000, email: info@housing-ombudsman.org.uk or postal address: PO Box 152, Liverpool, L33 7WQ.
You can also find more information about making a complaint and the Housing Ombudsman Service on our website.
