The redevelopment of the Priory Centre in Worksop has reached a significant new phase with the large-scale demolition now in progress.
A section of the Priory Centre, which formed part of the original Netherholme Shopping Centre and dates back to the late 1960s, will be removed so that a new building can be constructed that will host an exciting mix of leisure, entertainment, and dining facilities.

The Rebel Rangers challenge is now well underway, and there’s still plenty of time to get involved before it finishes on 19 April.
Families can explore six fantastic attractions across Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire, uncover stories of rebels from history and complete fun digital challenges at each location.

Bassetlaw’s budding young cyclists can gear up for a fun and active spring as free ‘Learn to Ride’ sessions roll into Harworth, Worksop and Langold next month.
The events, supported by Clancy Briggs Cycling Academy, will take place across the Easter and May half-term school holidays, as part of Move More in May, with two sessions running each day at:

Harworth, Tom Simpson Recreation Ground - Wednesday 1st April

Worksop, The Canch - Wednesday 8th April
-
Langold, Harrison Drive - Wednesday 27th May
Two sessions will run each day from 9am until 10.30am, and 10.30am until 12noon.

Council Budget agreed for 2026/27
Bassetlaw District Council has approved a balanced budget for the financial year ahead, including an increase in Council Tax of 2.99%.
Through a combination of measures including a commitment to transformation and efficiency, the Council has approved a total spend of £25.4million in the year ahead which will help provide vital services in the district.

Bassetlaw District Council is adding 24 new homes to its housing stock that will provide much needed affordable housing for local people.
The homes include 12 new two-bed homes located at Gleeson’s Firbeck Fields development in Langold, ten at the Vistry Hall Park Estate in Gateford and two through the open market.
The properties will be let at 80% of market rent, in line with the Council’s Allocations Policy, and will help to supply the growing demand for social housing in Bassetlaw.

Bassetlaw District Council joined communities across 56 Commonwealth nations to mark Commonwealth Day as part of the annual international celebration.
This year’s theme, “Unlocking opportunities together for a prosperous Commonwealth,” highlighted the importance of creating fair and high‑impact opportunities for people across the Commonwealth, from small rural communities to major cities.
