 Christmas Competition winners
We received some great submissions to this year’s ‘Best Handmade Christmas Decoration’ competition!
We would like to congratulate our winners for the amazing effort they put into their handmade decorations and for taking the time to submit them to us.
The Cabinet Member for Housing, Lynne Schuller, had the pleasure of choosing this year’s winners and was impressed with the well made decorations our tenants have taken the time to make.
Our competition winners were awarded Argos Vouchers with a £50 and £20 value, provided by Ventro.
Above are this years winners and a few other submissions for this year’s competition.

This year we received lots of nominations for tenants you believe deserve to be recognised for the work they’ve done in their community this year. It was great to read about all the work that has been going on and we’re delighted to be able to recognise those nominated and our Tenant Champion winners.
Kelly Fletcher, Peter Bush, Lynda Ridgeway and Alan Rogers were the deserved winners of 2025, for their outstanding contributions to improving the Council’s housing services and supporting their local communities. Their dedication and commitment were formally recognised at the annual Meet the Team and Tenant Conference, held at The Crossing in Worksop, where tenants and Council staff came together to celebrate the positive impact tenants are making in their communities.
Also nominated included Andrea Mackenzie, David Blow, Jill Lockwood and Tanice Ellis.
Certificates were provided by TPAS, the Tenant Engagement specialists, who have posted the photos on their website.

Hosted by our partner ‘Equans’, the Council took part in a local litter pick of the Harworth Wimpey estate. The litter pick was attended by local District Councillors, members from the Housing Team and Equans.
The activity was a great success and the team were able to fill a full 15 yard skip. Staff on site were also welcomed by members of the local community, who were glad to see action being taken to tackle the issue of litter on the estate.
Bassetlaw District Council will continue to look at further opportunities to do litter picks around the district in 2026!

Bassetlaw District Council’s Tenant Engagement team were happy to once again present a Christmas tree at the Christmas Tree Festival 2025, held at Priory Church, Worksop.
The tree presented the key values of the Council and the many different ways Council tenants and leaseholders can get involved.
