New Glass Recycling Bins go out to residents
 Preparations for kerbside glass recycling collections in Bassetlaw are gathering pace with new bins set to be delivered to the first set of households within the next two weeks.
The new black bins, which are just for recycling glass, will be distributed across Bassetlaw on a weekly basis, with the first deliveries going out to households in the north-east of the district from Monday 17th November.

Visitors to Worksop and Retford will be able to enjoy extended free car parking in all Bassetlaw District Council Car Parks (including the Priory Centre in Worksop) in the run up to Christmas and New Year.
Parking will be free after 1pm each day, an hour earlier than in previous years and a week earlier across the district, from Saturday 22nd November 2025 until Monday 5th January 2026 as the Council looks to attract more people into the town centres to support high street businesses.

 Worksop Parade to commemorate Remembrance Sunday
Bassetlaw District Council is proud to host the annual Remembrance Day parade in Worksop, which recognises the service and sacrifice made by so many of our Armed Forces who have lost their lives during conflicts around the world.

Remembrance Services in Retford
The Retford & District Branch of The Royal British Legion will be hosting two commemorative services for Remembrance Day and Armistice Day, with support from Bassetlaw District Council.

Make the most of final collections
With autumn leaves falling and gardening jobs coming to an end, we’re reminding customers that there are just three weeks’ worth of collections left for Bassetlaw District Council’s popular garden waste collection service in 2025.
Residents will start to receive their final collections from 17 November 2025, with the season coming to an end on 28 November 2025.

 Bassetlaw District Council is leading the way with its approach to tackling the problem of long-term empty shops as one of the early adopters of the High Street Rental Auction (HSRA) powers.
Instead of using it as a punitive tool, the council has been working on building relationships through proactive engagement with landlords, agents and businesses to understand the barriers to occupancy, the current retail and hospitality market and what drives investment into High Streets.

 Exciting improvements are on the way for Rainbow Park in Manton, Worksop, with work due to begin in the next few weeks to install brand-new play equipment.
The park will soon feature a multi-functional playground, provided by Nottinghamshire-based company Jupiter Play & Leisure, following the damage to the original equipment by fire two years ago.

Bassetlaw District Council is inviting residents and businesses to share their views on proposed new powers to target drivers causing anti-social behaviour.
The council is looking to introduce Nuisance Vehicle Public Spaces Protection Orders (PSPO) which would tackle anti-social behaviour including the sounding of horns, loud music, performing stunts, and attending gatherings to cause a public nuisance.
