 Tenant Meeting
The next monthly tenant meeting will be on Friday 25th July, 10:30 – 12:00 at Worksop Town Hall. Tenant meetings are a good opportunity to ask questions, pass on concerns with your tenancy or community and find out about how you can get involved and influence change.
There is no need to book your place for this event. However, Worksop Town Hall offers level access parking, which will need to be requested prior to the meeting. Refreshments will also be provided.

We are pleased the Conference which took place at The Well in Retford was a great success.
The event was attended by over 40 of our tenants, who took up the opportunity to come and speak to members of the Housing team, ask questions and had updates on key issues, such as empty properties and complaints.
We also heard from Darryl Plummer from Groundworks Five Counties, who talked about the fantastic projects they have led in Bassetlaw in partnership with BDC. Karen Smith from BDC also spoke about the new Tenant Repairs Portal and the opportunities this gives tenants to book and manage their repairs.
We would like to thank everyone who attended the event and who contributed to its success. We very much look forward to the next Conference in Worksop in November 2025.
Lastly, a big congratulations to the winner of the £25 Love2Shop voucher prize draw, Garry Smith, for completing the survey at the Tenant Conference!
Conference Q&A
During the Conference we received some anonymised questions. You can find these questions and our answers to them on our website.

The Tenant Repairs Portal allows tenants to create an account through the Council’s website and access information, including:
- Viewing and updating your contact information
- Booking a repair
- Tenancy information
- Documents
- Personal details
The Portal can be easily accessed online, using either a computer or smartphone. If you would like any support with creating an account or with using the Portal, please get in touch with the tenant engagement team, who will be happy to support you with this.

If you are a tenant who is passionate about influencing change, holding the Council to account and getting a service that Council tenants deserve, get in touch about being a Scrutiny Panel Member today.
Scrutiny Panel Members will work with other Council tenants to choose areas of the Council to scrutinise. This will involve working with the Tenant Engagement team to get information on the chosen topic, outline what you want to achieve from the scrutiny and work towards producing a report, which outlines your recommendations following your scrutiny.
The Scrutiny Panel is key to ensure the Council can be held to account and works with the Council to improve the services it provides. However, a Scrutiny Panel can only be effective with an active group of tenants, which is why we need you. There is something for everyone of all skills and abilities, with training and support provided throughout.
To find out more please give us a call or drop us an email.

Severn Trent ‘Big Difference Scheme’
We are once again promoting this scheme from Severn Trent, following positive feedback from tenants about the amount of money they have saved after a successful application to get on the scheme. If you are a Severn Trent customer, you could get up to £390 off your yearly bill. The Big Difference Scheme can offer a reduction of water bills to any Severn Trent customer with a household income below £23,492. Households with child dependants may be eligible for an additional income allowance in excess of this amount.
The Scheme will assess your household income when you apply, and that assessment will determine how big a reduction you're eligible for.
If your application is successful, you'll get a brand-new payment plan. The Big Difference Scheme will design a payment plan especially for you which will include payments towards any outstanding debt on your account.
To apply please go to Severn Trent's website.

There are lots of opportunities for Tenants to come along to our groups over the next month. Whether you want to speak to someone from Housing to raise an issue or if you just want to come for a coffee, biscuit and a chat, there is a group for you.
Last month we supported tenants with reporting anti-social behaviour issues, accessing money advise services and much more. So, if you’re not sure where to go with an issue, please come to one of our meetings and we will be on hand to support you.

Healthy Neighbourhood Inspections help us to look for things that will improve your communities, such as removing graffiti, tackling overgrown gardens, and resolving issues within the community.
Each area has at least one inspection per year, and they are carried out by your Housing Officer. People from other Council departments, Nottinghamshire Police and other agencies may also attend, so that specific problems can be addressed.
We want tenants to be part of these inspections, even if it is just for your street or to raise an individual issue, after all it is your estate, and nobody knows it better than you.
Please join us at one of the inspections that take place over the next month:
