Annual Tenant Conference and Meet The Team
For the first time Bassetlaw District Council will be holding two Meet the Team and Tenant Conference events this year, one in Retford and one in Worksop.
The first of these events is fast approaching and will be a fantastic opportunity for tenants to come and meet with members of the Housing Team and our partners, find out what is going on in the world of housing and enjoy a lovely buffet, all provided for free.
The Meet the Team and Tenant Conference will be held on Monday 23rd June, 10.30am to 2pm, at The Well, Hospital Road, Retford, DN22 7BD. Free onsite parking is available at the rear of the building, off Lime Tree Avenue. Please contact us using the details below to confirm your attendance and any dietary requirements. Travel expenses will be reimbursed.

We’ve launched a new way for you to report non-emergency repairs to us, giving you far more options than you had before.
Our new online reporting tool means that as well as being able to self-diagnose a problem, once you have booked an appointment, you can pick a timeslot, chase up a repair, or see a summary of the work that’s been completed.
To have a look for yourself and to create an account, visit our website.
This new tool hasn’t replaced our freephone service, and you should still call us if you need to report an emergency repair.
Call Bassetlaw District Council Housing’s Contact Centre on 0800 590 542 between 8am and 5pm Monday to Friday. The same number is also used to report emergency repairs outside these hours.
For any tenants who would like more information on how to report a repair online, please contact the Tenant Engagement Team:

Important information for Telecare users: Protecting your landline during the digital switchover
The UK is currently in the process of switching all traditional analogue telephone lines to digital by 2027. This nationwide upgrade, known as the Digital Switchover, means that landline services will no longer run through the old copper wire network and instead will operate over the internet.
Good news for Bassetlaw District Council tenants
If you live in a Bassetlaw District Council property and you use a hard-wired telecare system paid for through your rent, you do not need to worry. These systems do not rely on your home landline and are unaffected by any changes to your personal phone provider.
Why this matters for Telecare users
If you or someone you care for uses a telecare device (such as a personal alarm or fall detector) that relies on an analogue landline, it’s essential to ensure this service is continued during and after the switchover.
It is important that you contact your phone provider and let them know you have a telecare device. This is crucial as they need to make a note on your account to protect your landline service until your device is upgraded to a compatible digital unit. Failing to do so may result in your telecare device not working correctly after the switchover.
What Bassetlaw District Council is doing
Bassetlaw District Council is committed to keeping residents safe and connected. We are currently in the process of appointing a new digital telecare provider and will work with landline providers to ensure that our telecare users have been identified as soon as possible. Once appointed, we will begin the process of upgrading all our analogue telecare alarms to modern digital systems, ensuring a smooth and safe transition for all our tenants.
If you have any concerns or questions about your telecare service, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with the Supported Housing Team.

Healthy Neighbourhood Inspections help us to look for things that will improve your communities, such as removing graffiti, tackling overgrown gardens, and resolving issues within the community.
Each area has at least one inspection per year, and they are carried out by your Housing Officer. People from other council departments, Nottinghamshire Police and other agencies may also attend, so that specific problems can be addressed.
We want tenants to be part of these inspections, even if it is just for your street or to raise an individual issue, after all it is your estate, and nobody knows it better than you.
Please join us at one of the inspections that take place over the next month:
