Budget Conversation
There's still time to get involved in helping to shape future services and balance the books at Bassetlaw District Council.
The council is inviting residents, businesses and stakeholders to take part in the Budget Conversation, a survey to find out which services people use the most and capture any ideas on ways to make potential savings.

Bassetlaw District Council is carrying out more flood management work on the brook which runs through Farr Park in Worksop.
Contractors are on site carrying out clearance and de-silting work at the southern end of the park near Chapel Walk and will be working their way upstream to Poplar Close, with the aim of helping to ease the flow of water.
It follows work carried out near Brook Terrace last month, resulting in the removal of debris, overgrown shrubbery, and rubbish from the waterway.

Tuxford Town Council (TTC) is currently in the process of updating its Neighbourhood Plan. As part of this process, they have issued a formal Call for Sites to identify land within the Tuxford area that may be suitable for future development. The Neighbourhood Plan will play a key role in shaping the future development of Tuxford, providing local residents and stakeholders with a voice in how the town evolves.
The Call for Sites is an opportunity for landowners to put forward land they believe could be considered for housing, employment, recreational spaces, or other community uses.

Bassetlaw District Council is investing £200k to help more of its tenants live healthier and independent lives in their own homes for longer.
The Council plans to adapt a minimum of 20 homes by installing accessible bathrooms that include a level access shower, have ramped entrances and are wheelchair accessible, among other adaptations.
The Funding was secured through the Government's Better Care Fund and will allow the Council to adopt a proactive approach to installing adaptations in its properties by having homes ready for people when they need them, rather than waiting for an adaptation referral to be received.
