There's still time to get involved in helping to shape future services and balance the books at Bassetlaw District Council.
The council is inviting residents, businesses and stakeholders to take part in the Budget Conversation, a survey to find out which services people use the most and capture any ideas on ways to make potential savings.
Those who complete the survey also have the chance to win one of six £25 Love2Shop vouchers.
To take part in the five-minute survey visit our website.

Investment to Benefit Tenants' Health and Wellbeing
Bassetlaw District Council is investing £200k to help more of its tenants live healthier and independent lives in their own homes for longer.
The Council plans to adapt a minimum of 20 homes by installing accessible bathrooms that include a level access shower, have ramped entrances and are wheelchair accessible, among other adaptations.
The Funding was secured through the Government's Better Care Fund and will allow the Council to adopt a proactive approach to installing adaptations in its properties by having homes ready for people when they need them, rather than waiting for an adaptation referral to be received.

E-bikes offer a great way to get about and thousands of people enjoy cycling using these products. While most e-bikes, e-scooters and their batteries are safe when used correctly, lithium-ion batteries can cause serious fires, particularly if of poor quality, when damaged or improperly used.
You can take steps to protect yourself and others and reduce the risk of fires:
- Check product reviews and only buy from trusted sellers.
- Only use manufacturer recommended batteries and chargers.
- Get professional guidance when converting a bike into an e-bike.
- Don’t let the battery get too hot through over charging.
- Don’t leave your device charging unattended or when you are asleep.
- Don’t charge or store your battery in the hallway or where it could block escape routes.

Money advice service
We all know the benefit system can be difficult to navigate and, in some cases, benefits go unclaimed that could help with household bills or food shopping.
Just remember the Council’s Money Advice Team is on hand to support you and can help check if you are claiming for everything you are entitled to.
Some older people in Bassetlaw could be claiming Pension Credit, which could help with their day to day living costs by topping up their pension income. If eligible, residents may also be able to access The Winter Fuel Payment, get help with rent and Council Tax, a free TV licence for 75-year-olds or over, or help with the cost of NHS services.
People over State Pension age need to apply by 21st December, the last date for making a backdated claim, in order to receive this year’s Winter Fuel Payment.
You can find out if you are eligible for Pension Credit by visiting: www.gov.uk/pension-credit or by calling 0800 991 234.
You can also contact the Council’s Money Advice Team for advice and support by calling 01909 533 744.

We are looking to help the community around Cheapside and the Mews area to establish a Community Group. The benefits of this group would include being able to apply for grants to raise money that can be spent to improve the area, as well as giving the community a louder voice when it comes to raising issues and having a say in our plans to invest in the area.
We already have a few members of the community interested in establishing a community group. However, to get this off the ground we need more people to be involved and willing to attend a monthly meeting nearby.
If you are interested or would like to know more about this please contact the Tenant Engagement team on 01909 533 263 or email joshua.booth@bassetlaw.gov.uk or anita.fairweather@bassetlaw.gov.uk.
