This year’s Meet the Team Day and Annual Tenant Conference will take place on Monday 7th October, at Worksop Town Hall and all tenants and leaseholders are invited to come along.
This annual event is a wonderful opportunity to meet the different teams that make up our Housing Service, including Housing Officers, Repairs, Tenancy Sustainment and Tenant Engagement, as well as some of our partners who provide specialist services.
The Meet the Team part of the day will take place between 10:00am and 11:30am. You are then invited to stay for the Tenant Conference, which takes place between 12:00pm and 1:30pm.
At the Conference you will be able to hear from our Head of Housing, Alison Craig and the Cabinet Member for Housing, on what has been happening over the past 12 months, plus some updates from guest speakers.
Refreshments and lunch will be provided to keep you fueled throughout the event. There is level access parking available just outside the Town Hall. To advise us of any dietary requirements and to reserve parking please contact the Engagement Team:
Phone: 01909 533263
Email: Anita.Fairweather@basselaw.gov.uk or Joshua.booth@bassetlaw.gov.uk
As part of the Tenant Conference, we also like to recognise people and groups for the hard work they do in their communities, and we are asking for your nominations in the category of ‘Community Champion’.
A Community Champion can be:
- Someone who has supported their local community to make a difference for everyone.
- A good neighbour who has gone the extra mile to help someone in need.
- A tenant voice in their local area, sharing information and ensuring all tenants voices are heard irrespective of where they live. Engagement Team:
Nominations will close on Monday 30th September, and awards will be presented at the Conference on Monday 7th October 2024.

Have you heard of the Vulnerability Registration Service?
The Vulnerability Registration Service (VRS) is a not-for-profit organisation that provides a central, independent register of vulnerable people, helping companies to identify vulnerability and keep people safe.
It is free to use, entirely voluntary, and users can remove themselves from it whenever their circumstances have sufficiently improved.
By giving vulnerable consumers a single place to register their status, the VRS helps them avoid having to repeat the same difficult conversations every time they engage with organisations like lenders and creditors.
Individual users can opt either to be pre-declined for financial service applications or they can simply add a ‘referral flag’ to their names to make organisations aware of their circumstances, so that these can be taken into consideration. This may include applications in existing customer relationships, such as in managing arrears or collections in the most appropriate ways.
In circumstances where a vulnerable person is unable to register themselves – for instance if they are suffering from dementia – the VRS will accept registration from those who have a legal mandate to act of their behalf, such as power of attorney.
The details supplied to the VRS will be shown on the register for three months, after which users can ask us the VRS to remove them should they feel their circumstances have sufficiently improved. Once a user’s information is removed, no organisation is able to see that the user was ever registered.

Healthy Neighbourhood Inspections help us to look for things that will improve your communities, such as removing graffiti, tackling overgrown gardens and resolving parking issues.
Each area has at least one inspection per year and they are carried out by your Housing Officer. People from other council departments, Nottinghamshire Police and other agencies may also attend, so that specific problems can be addressed.
We want tenants to be part of these inspections, even if it’s just for your street or to raise an individual issue, after all it’s your estate and nobody knows it better than you.
Please join us at one of the inspections that take place in July and August:
