The Prime Minister has announced that there will be a General Election on 4th July.
If you were registered to vote for the 2nd May elections and still live at the same address, you do not need to register to vote again.
As postal vote packs cannot be printed until after candidate nominations close on Friday 7th June, it would be prudent for UK voters living overseas to consider setting up a proxy vote now, so that they have someone they trust to vote on their behalf.
If you plan to be away on holiday on Thursday July of 4th you can register for a postal or proxy vote at: www.gov.uk/vote-uk-election You should do this as soon as possible before the deadline of 5pm Wednesday 19th June.

The Bassetlaw Local Plan 2020 – 2038 will reach its final stage on 29th May 2024 with a report to Extraordinary Council recommending the plan’s adoption by Bassetlaw District Council.
After eight rounds of public and stakeholder consultation since 2015, and following the independent Planning Inspectorate carrying out an Examination in Public, the Bassetlaw Local Plan (with the Inspector’s main modifications) was found to be sound and capable of adoption.
This would fulfil the Council’s legal duty to have an adopted Local Plan and supports the Government’s target of every local authority having an up-to-date adopted Local Plan in place.
