Residents say they are happy and settled at Larwood House in Worksop, one of Bassetlaw District Council’s five independent living centres, which has been officially opened after extensive refurbishment.
Bright, modern, and welcoming apartments have been created at the complex in Worksop as 32 bedsits have been transformed into 18 self-contained one-bed apartments, with updated communal areas.
Five residents have already moved in and are benefitting from larger living space, a fully accessible wet room and either a private patio or Juliet balcony.
Brenda Morris is among those who has moved back in and said:
“It really is beautiful; I love it here and have settled in nicely since making the move in November."

We are looking for Bassetlaw District Council Tenants to join one of our new groups that will consist of other likeminded people who want to work together to scrutinise all aspects of the Housing Service, including:
- Repairs and maintenance of our 6,500 properties
- How we allocating our properties
- How we maintain our open spaces on estates
- How we deal with Anti-Social Behaviour
- Look at our services that support tenants to live independently in their homes
- Co-design tenant documentation that is best practice and user friendly
- Help us to communicate and engage with even more of our tenants and leaseholders so that we can hear their views and thoughts
- Learn how we can be more accessible and available

Access support through our Sustainment Team
Our Tenancy Sustainment Team helps to support tenants who may be finding it hard to cope with the day-to-day pressures of managing their home and their tenancies.
We recognise that some of our customers are facing a number of unprecedented pressures at the moment, and our Tenancy Sustainment Team can help you to navigate the daily challenges you may be facing by providing support and access to relevant services.
The Team works with all parts of the Housing Service, and other specialist support agencies, to provide a holistic service and assist customers. They provide an excellent and responsive service that, over time, generates trust and confidence in a tenant’s ability to manage their home and tenancy better, and work towards living more independently.
If you would like to know more about this support, you can get in touch with us by calling 0800 590 542 or email tenancy.sustainment@bassetlaw.gov.uk

Rising energy costs and energy efficiency plays a big part in all of our lives.
That’s why Bassetlaw District Council has partnered with Groundwork Five Counties to introduce a referral scheme for residents to have their homes inspected by their amazing Green Doctors who will advise and assist households in how to achieve real energy efficiency savings.
They have lots of useful tips and resources that can really make a difference and reduce energy costs.
Visit www.groundwork.org.uk/fivecounties/green-doctor/ for more information.
