We’re inviting Bassetlaw Tenants and Residents to join us at our annual Tenant Conference and Meet the Team event for 2023.
Organised by Bassetlaw District Council, the event aims to bring residents and key people in the council together, and gives residents a chance to find out how they can influence decision making on matters that both interest and impact them. You’ll also be able to learn more about what support is available from the council across a range of areas, including:
- Housing and estates
- Cost of living challenges and the help that is available
- Understanding more about our Repairs Service
- Health and Wellbeing
- And lots more
As part of the conference, we will present you with our Annual Report to tenants, which outlines how the council has performed over the last 12 months and what’s planned for the year ahead.
You will also get chance to meet our residents group Voices of Bassetlaw and hear about their experiences, the positive impacts they have made for residents, and ways in which you can get involved and influence future service improvements.
There will also be an opportunity to chat with council officers and fellow tenants with refreshments at the end of the event. To reserve your place, please contact our Tenant and Resident Engagement Officer, Anita Fairweather on 0800 590542 or email anita.fairweather@bassetlaw.gov.uk

New affordable homes for Council
Bassetlaw District Council has added a collection of seven brand-new homes to its housing stock that will provide much needed affordable housing for local people.
The new homes, which include four one-bed town houses, one two-bed town house, and two three-bed town houses, are located on Rippon Homes’ Worksop development ‘The Burrows at The Edge’, close to Thievesdale.
All of the properties will be let at 80% of market rent, in line with the Council’s Allocations Policy, and will help to supply the growing demand for social housing in Bassetlaw.
Cllr Jonathan Slater, Cabinet Member for Housing and Estates at Bassetlaw District Council, said: “We are always looking to improve, modernise and add to our housing stock, and these properties will be a fantastic addition to the homes we already offer across the district.

Housing Ombudsman
Each year the Council is required to self-assess against the Housing Ombudsman Complaint Handling Code and publish its self-assessment.
This self-assessment looks at areas including how we handle complaints, the different stages of complaints, how we put things right and what we are doing to improve our complaints service.
Our self-assessment form for August 2023 is now available to view on our website.
