To brighten up passenger's journeys, Friends of Worksop Station have transformed the station waiting room with two bespoke works of art from local artist Jasmine Bowers.
Jasmine who is based out of Oldcotes, created the stunning designs which highlight the historic and scenic treasures of the area, showcasing Worksop and surrounding areas as places to visit and enjoy.
The illustrations were funded by Worksop Charter Trustees and the Community Railway Partnership, and unveiled at the station on Thursday 11th May 2023 by Bassetlaw District Council Chair, Councillor Madelaine Richardson and Worksop Mayor, Councillor Neil Sanders.
David Pidwell of the Worksop Station Friends group said: “Through this project we wished to portray the stations in Bassetlaw as points of arrival which act as entry points to explore the area’s many attractions and which are well worth a visit.”
Richard Allsopp, secretary of Worksop Station Friends said: “We are grateful for the support of the Community Rail Partnership, Northern Railways and especially of the station staff in bringing this scheme to fruition”.
